Introduction:

Ps. 42:5

We all have weeds in our garden, but we have a GOOD GARDNER.

     1.  What are the roots that cause us to be downcast?

           A.  One root is Bitterness.

Hebrews 12:14-15

           B.  Second root is Worry-fixate on what if.

Mt. 6:33

           C.  Third root is Laziness.

           D.  The fourth root is Guilt.

           E.  The fifth root is perfectionism.

Rom. 5:1

           F.  The sixth root is something horrible happened to you.

           G.  The seventh root is Isolation.

           H.  The eighth root is Ingratitude/self pity.

           I.    The ninth root is God can’t use me any more.

John 21:15-19

     2.  What do we do to put our hope in the Good Gardner?

          A.  Make daily scripture reading a part of your life.

          B.  We need to worship weekly.

          C.  Lean into community.

Conclusion: Fully trust in Jesus.
