“Walking With an Unfinished Faith”

Introduction:

Gen. 26:4 NIV

Phil. 1:6 NLT

     I.     I believe God has three challenges for us today.

  1.  Uncompromising Faith.

            2.  Unleash unprecedented hope.

            3.  Extend unrelenting love.

Gen. 12:1

Gen. 12:2-3 NIV

     II.   God makes three promises to Abraham.

            1.  I’m going to bless you with a land.

            2.  I’m going to make you and your descendants 

                 into a great nation.

            3.  I’m going to bless all peoples on earth 

                 through you and your offspring.

     III. My dream for our church.

     IV.  Our response to God comes with two questions.

            1.  Am I really following God?

John Calvin summarized God’s call to Abraham. What God was really saying to Abraham was, just close your eyes and take my hand.

            2.  What blessings am I holding on to so tightly 

                 that it prevents God’s unfinished work in me?

Conclusion: I believe whether you are 17 or 75, God wants us to open our hands and trust Him.
