“Blessed Are the Poor in Spirit”

Matthew 5:3

  1.  Beatitudes have certain attributes.

  1.  The Beatitudes are conditional.

  2.  The Beatitudes are a divine Judgmental Pronouncement.

  3.  The Beatitudes are progressive.

     2.   How do we become “Poor in Spirit”?

    A.   Turn our eyes off of ourselves and look to Jesus.

               B.   We starve our fleshly nature by 

                      removing the things that nature feeds on.

               C.   Look to God and ask for help.
