“Happy Are Those Who Are Sad”

Matthew 5:4

1.  Comfort doesn’t come from mourning, it comes from God’s response to the mourning which is forgiveness.

    A. Mourning over sin brings forgiveness and forgiveness brings freedom.

    B. The result of Godly mourning is comfort.

2. Mourning brings repentance.

    A.  What hinders repentance?  Pride and procrastination.

    B.  Study the scriptures.

    C.  Pray for a contrite heart and a broken spirit.
